Whether you work on Windows, Linux, or Mac, follow the steps to disable SafeSearch filtering.

  • To disable Google SafeSearch in the browser, first, open your browser and visit Google, and type any term.
  • When the search results appear on the screen, you will see the “Settings” option on the top right corner below the “Voice search” option.
  • Click the “Settings” option. When the drop-down menu appears, select the “Search Settings” option.
  • When you see the “Search settings” menu, uncheck the “Turn on SafeSearch” option. Doing so will disable SafeSearch filtering.
  • After you have unchecked the “Turn on SafeSearch” option, you need to scroll down and click “Save” to save the applied changes.
  • As you save the changes, the SafeSearch filtering will deactivate.

To check if the applied changes are working well, you can search for any term. If you find any results matching your term appear on the screen, the SafeSearch is working.

Disable Google SafeSearch on Mobile Browsers

The user experience on both hand-held devices and PC may vary. The mobile browser works differently from PC browsers. If you use the latest Chrome version, you can set it to desktop mode and apply the same steps on your mobile browser to disable the Google SafeSearch. If you use Google search using your mobile-based browser, you can follow the steps below. The procedure will work for Android and iOS devices also.

  • The first thing you need to do is to open your browser.
  • Visit the Google website.
  • Enter any term or search for any query and wait for the page to load.
  • Once the page is loaded, select the “Menu” icon on the top left corner.
  • Now, click the” Settings” options.
  • When you see the “Search Settings” option, select the “Show Explicit Results” button.
  • Doing so will turn off filtering in your web browser.
  • If you want to enable the filtering again, you can choose the “Hide explicit results” option.
  • After you have disabled the Google SafeSearch, scroll down until you see the “Save” option.
  • Click it to save the changes you made.

Turn off Google SafeSearch in Google Search App on Android

To turn off Google SafeSearch on Android, you can follow the steps described here.

  • First, select the “More” option that appears on the left corner at the bottom.
  • As you click the “More” option, you will see “settings.” Choose “General” after entering the “Settings” option.
  • As you enter the “General,” you will see various options.
  • You need to turn the slider off.
  • As the SafeSearch slider becomes gray, Google SafeSearch will turn off.
  • All types of content will now show in your search results.
